Addie Blackburn Succumbs At 82

      Mrs. Addie A. Blackburn, 82, died at 7:30 last night at Lewiston Manor where she had resided since April 25 of this year.
      Mrs. Blackburn was born at Trade, Tenn., Jan. 1, 1883, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rufus A. King. They moved to Zanesville when she was a young girl and in 1901 the family moved to Teakean, Idaho. At Teakean she met and married Mitch Blackburn on June 14, 1903. They lived there a short time before moving to Tacoma, Wash., where they lived for five years. They returned to Idaho and settled at Cavendiah where they farmed and he worked for the State Highway Department and was employed as a carpenter.
      Because of their failing health they moved to Orofino six years ago to live with their children. Mr. Blackburn died Feb. 14, 1964.
      Mrs. Blackburn had been ill of a heart ailment. She was a charter member of the Rebekah Lodge of Cavendish, the Orofino Bluebell Rebekah Lodge and the Cavendish Methodist Church.
      Surviving are three daughters. Mrs. Jesse Daniels of Cavendish, Mrs. Theodore Blake and Mrs. Wayne Pippinger, both of Orofino; a son, Everett, of Lewiston; 10 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Minnie McGuire, of Cavendish.

Mrs. Addie Blackburn Notes 80th Birthday At Orofino

      OROFINO - Mrs. Addie Ann Blackburn celebrated her 80th birthday Tuesday at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Blake here.
      She was born Addie Ann King, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rufus King, at Trade, Johnson County, Tenn., Jan. 1, 1883. A year later the family moved to Mabel, N.C., where she spent her childhood. She moved to Teakean when she was 18. There, she met and later married Mitch Blackburn. They lived near Cavendish most of their life, except for five years spent at Tacoma. In 1960, they moved to Orofino, because of the ill health of both of them. Here, they resided with their daughter Mrs. Blake.
      Blackburn, who was a farmer and carpenter, died in February, 1962, at the age of 83. Since then Mrs. Blackburn has made her home with her children, Mrs. Blake, and Mrs. Wayne Pippinger, Orofino; Everett Blackburn, Lewiston and Mrs. Jess Daniels, Cavendish.
      A celebration of her birthday was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Blake. One of the honored guests was her only living sister, Mrs. E. McGuire. During their life, they have never lived more than one half mile from each other, until the move was made in 1960 to Orofino. Mrs. McGuire still resides at Cavendish.
      Other members of the family attending were Mr. and Mrs. Everett Blackburn, Mr. and Mrs. Mick Blackburn, and Jack Daniels, all of Lewiston; Mr. and Mrs. Claude King, Mr. and Mrs. Jess Daniels and Mrs. Georgia Reece, of Cavendish; Mr. and Mrs. Tom King and daughter, Southwick; Mr. and Mrs. Everett Olson, Pullman, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Pippinger, Moscow, and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Pippinger, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Donahue, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Pitcher, Mrs. Robert Adams, Mrs. Ruth Gilmore and Mrs. Edna Nyggard, all of Orofino.
